Improving Reading: Strategies And Resources (Fourth Edition) ReviewThis book should be in every teacher's collection. I teach English as a Second Language and I use this book often. It gives great ideas for strategies to use with struggling readers. I purchased this book in grad school for my reading specialist certification and now, I find it to be one of the resources that I refer to most. We all have students in our classes that struggle with reading for one reason or another; and generally they have problems with different aspects of the reading process. This book starts with the basics of letter identification, continues through fluency and comprenhension, and even gives strategies for getting students to enjoy reading. Look at the table of contents for this book -- you will see for yourself! I recommend this resource for ALL K-12 teachers. In addition to the hundreds -- yes hundreds-- of activities, there are also numerous lists and resources listed in the back of the book.
